So Charmed

Hello Peeps!

Another Friday - finally!  This week felt like it was never going to end.  Hope everyone is well and getting ready for a fantastic weekend (if the weather cooperates).  Here it has rained a lot, so we have been stuck inside.  Then it stopped raining and it turns out that during the downpour, the mosquitoes were plotting to take over the world...or perhaps they are just famished because we were all inside for so long.  Aggressive, they are.

Another Friday means it is time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz.  This week, the lovely Linda is hosting and she has chosen charms.  So, we would love to see your cards or creations with a charm on them.  Our wonderful sponsor, Sassy Studio Designs has provided a couple of images for the DT to play with.  I chose Sassy Skater.  I have to tell you, this is very far away from my usual style.  I try to take inspiration from the images, and here is what I came up with for the sexy little Sassy Skater:

I thought a skater needed some leather, metal and skulls, and because she is a sexy skater, she also needed some glitter and bling.  Amazingly, I actually had some old paper with skulls on it in my stash!

Supplies:

Papers - Bazzill and My Mind's Eye (I think it was called Spiderwebs)
Colouring - pencils
Embellishments - these do not show up well in the picture; black and glitter are so hard to photograph.  The skater's shirt is coloured black and then covered in Glitter Ritz glitter in crystal.  This stuff is amazing - sticks and does not come off so no messes.  Brads are silver glitter brads from American Crafts.  Cross charm is from Making Memories.  'Leather' (vinyl) is recycled from a belt.  I cut it down and laid out a strip diagonally.  I then twisted a length and curled it up to make a flower.  I was so tired when I finished that my eyes did not see a flower - a bun or danish perhaps, or even a shiny black cow patty (if you've ever lived on a ranch).  I would have taken it off had it not been glued on with a hot glue gun.  But after some sleep, I now see it differently and I am getting used to how it turned out, maybe in a couple of days I will even like it :).  To soften the look and make it more feminine and sexy, I layered some black ribbon with sequins on it over the black leather strip.  It does not show well in the photo, being all black on black, but it does look nice in person.

If you are looking for more inspiration, please do make sure you check out the creations of our talented DT - they have made some really beautiful cards and their links are all in the sidebar.  Then hop on over to Crafty Catz to join in the fun.  We are looking forward to seeing your creations.

I would also like to enter this card in these fun challenges/link parties:

Belli Challenge - the letter G - I have used some Glitter Ritz glitter, which I have had forever but never use (even though it is awsome)
Make it Monday - always anything goes
Pile it on - show me some metal
A Gem of a Challenge - bloomin charmin

Thanks for stopping by!  Thank you for taking time to leave a comment - I love reading them and it gives me a chance to visit you too.  Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Dawn
